Who Wrote Durga Chalisa

There is no clear evidence on who wrote Durga Chalisa. However some people give credits to Devidasa, a name present in last stanza of chalisa. But it can also indicate a credit like the devotee of devi but not a name.

But as the written language is very similar and considered to be Magadhi Prakrit, it might be originated in areas like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Bengal.
